Mary Callahan works on her crocheting during her Lewiston Adult Education class last spring.

The fall 2025 Lewiston Adult Education brochure will be heading to mailboxes in Lewiston and Auburn with color pages featuring crochet, sewing and standup comedy classes.

With more than 20 new classes and a dozen new instructors, the brochure includes a course on how to run an ice cream truck, Kim Sloan’s “Make It Sweet: Life Inside an Ice Cream Truck.” Jillian Carrozza brings “Learn to Sew” and “Sewing Clinic” to the fall lineup.

Two introductory classes will show students how to learn sewing skills. Pat Pelliccia will teach “Learn to Play Mah Jongg,” a popular tile game. Derek Cote will teach *Basic Stand-Up for Newbies.”

Returning instructors include Mary Callahan teaching two crochet classes, Becki Leighton with two fitness classes and Rosa Storer, who will teach two line dancing classes. Mitchel Roberge delivers a new session of “Basics of Wills & Estate Planning.”

Cole Hastings of Bates College will lead an astronomy class, “The Skies of Maine,” at the Ladd Planetarium in the Carnegie Science Center at Bates College.

Chris Conlogue is returning to Lewiston Adult Education for a new class, “Winter Sowing,” which will focus on gardening in zone 5 in Maine.

For these and other learning experiences, Lewiston Adult Education once again is sharing a combined brochure with Auburn Adult & Community Education and is scheduled to arrive in mailboxes in September. Check out our new website, www.lewiston.maineadulted.org to register.
