Open Studio Ceramics (Tuesday Sessions)

Are you comfortable with your clay abilities and just looking for a place to work and improve your skills? Join us in the Morse High School Ceramics Studio and start making all those things you have been dreaming up! This is not an instructor lead class, but the instructor will be on site working in case you need something. $65 for materials and studio fee, payable to instructor, must be paid on the first night of class. *Purchasing additional clay: The fee is an additional $65 to cover the firing, glazes and other consumables used during class. Please note: If you miss a class, you cannot make-up the class at another time. The ceramics schedule is very tight and these classes are usually full. Thank you for your understanding!

Ultimate Beginner Watercolor: Level 1

In this 2 day class, you'll learn everything you need to know to get started with watercolor painting. We will have an in-depth conversation about paper and pads, paint, palettes, and brushes. After the materials lecture, we'll jump right in and make a color chart, practice mixing paint and our brush strokes. After a quick review on the second day, you'll have the opportunity to paint a custom illustration created by Catherine and printed on watercolor paper. You'll leave this short, but sweet class with enough experience and knowledge to know if investing in the materials to paint with watercolor is something you are interested in doing. All materials provided. *A $20 materials fee to be paid to the instructor at the first class.

Ultimate Beginner Watercolor: Level 2

In Level 2 Ultimate Watercolor class, you will continue your watercolor journey by building on what you learned in Level 1. After a quick review of color mixing and texture techniques that were covered in Level 1, we'll jump right in to learn a few more advanced techniques to fill your knowledge toolbox. The illustrations you will receive are printed on watercolor paper and encourage you to utilize all the painting techniques you've learned so far, while giving you the confidence you need to apply paint to paper and learn about water and paint ratios. You'll leave this short, but sweet class with an expanded knowledge and plenty of practice painting in watercolor, plus you'll have more pages to work on after the class ends. All materials provided. *There is a $25 materials fee (payable to the instructor) for this class that covers paint, 16 watercolor sheets that include custom illustrations, experiment sheets and color charts that can be bound into a book, as well as use of Princeton Select Watercolor brushes.

Ultimate Beginner Watercolor: Level 3

Join Catherine for this 1 night class to learn new ways to incorporate mixed media techniques in your work. Create depth, texture and interest with gouache, fluid acrylic, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, dual tipped markers and posca pens (and more). Class will start with a refresher on color and techniques covered in previous levels and then transition to discuss new ways to think about layers while introducing various mixed media supplies. We will spend the rest of class playing with a variety of materials to incorporate new and old techniques to complete a fun and uplifting illustration. Materials fee: $20 (payable to the instructor).

Painting the Landscape: Rocks

Ever wanted to take some time for yourself and play with clay? Learn the basics of hand building and wheel throwing in this 6 week class. This class is geared toward the beginner. The first 10 people to sign up have priority on the wheel. Please let admins know if you prefer to hand build or wheel throw so we can keep an accurate account. Drawing Fundamentals
