Make Your Own Coffee Mug

Learn basic hand-building techniques to create a unique, microwave- and dishwasher-safe ceramic mug. We’ll explore pinch, coil, and slab construction, experiment with handles, and add surface design through texture and carving. Glazing will be done later by Janna or by participants. All materials included; $20 materials fee payable to the instructor. No experience necessary.

Drawing Fundamentals

Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to brush up on previous skills, this is the drawing class for you. Working in a variety of media, we will cover all of the basics: line, shape, value, proportion, composition, perspective and markmaking. Particular focus is placed on observational skills, learning how to translate the 3-dimensional world onto a 2-dimensional surface. A materials list will be provided after registration.

Use your Zentangle skills to relax, make gifts, and craft ornaments for the upcoming holiday. In Holiday Zentangle, you will learn to make Triskele hanging ornaments, Christmas Trees, hand-done placecards, and decorative picture frames over the course of two sessions. All supplies needed will be provided. While any skill level will be accepted, those who have taken Introduction to Zentangle will have a head start.

Museum Sketchbook Series

Forge an intimate connection with museum collections, while improving your own work by studying the techniques of the masters. Guidance and critical feedback are provided as needed. At the end of our visit, we will meet up to share our results with the group. Museum admission is included in fee. Participants will meet at the museum.

Are you comfortable with your clay abilities and just looking for a place to work and improve your skills? Join us in the Morse High School Ceramics Studio and start making all those things you have been dreaming up! This is not an instructor lead class, but the instructor will be on site working in case you need something. $65 for materials and studio fee, payable to instructor, must be paid on the first night of class. *Purchasing additional clay: The fee is an additional $65 to cover the firing, glazes and other consumables used during class. Please note: If you miss a class, you cannot make-up the class at another time. The ceramics schedule is very tight and these classes are usually full. Introductory Stained Glass Workshop

Glass on Glass Mosaic

An intro to the bright and shiny world of glass on glass mosaics. Bring a nature photo for inspiration or go with the flow for an abstract adventure. Mosaic substrate is an unfinished wooden picture frame with a clear glass back. The first two classes are for breaking, arranging and gluing glass. The third class we will grout and finish. Tools will be provided for in class use. No experience required! All Materials provided. A material fee of $35 must be paid to the instructor on the first night of class.

Stained Glass for Beginners

Beautiful objects are created in this class every semester by beginners. You can create a stained glass window or lampshade using the copper-foil technique. Learn acid etching and drilling. This is a fun and rewarding course. A complete list of materials will be discussed on the first night of class. The cost of materials is not included in the course fee and can vary depending on choice of glass and what your imagination will create. Note: You will also need to purchase your own tools, which can run between $45-$95. *No Class: 10/13.
