Our Adult Education Program is committed to helping adult learners achieve their personal, academic, and career goals through a wide range of high-quality educational opportunities. Program Offerings

Adult Basic Education (ABE)
Foundational reading, writing, math, and digital literacy instruction to strengthen essential skills for work, daily life, or continued education.

HiSET Preparation (High School Equivalency Test)
Comprehensive classes that prepare students for the HiSET exam, leading to a recognized high school equivalency diploma.

Adult High School Diploma
Individualized pathways for students who want a traditional high school diploma. We honor previously earned credits and support steady progress toward graduation.

College Transitions
Courses designed to bridge the gap between high school and higher education. Students build academic skills, explore career options, and receive guidance through the college enrollment process.

Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) Course Coming Soon!

Do you want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare? We train students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instructions include preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. Students will review important topics including medical terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, healthcare Math, Digital Literacy, electronic health records, medical billing and coding, phlebotomy, pharmacology, the proper use and administration of medications, taking and documenting vital signs, cardiology including proper EKG lead placements, professional workplace behavior, ethics and the legal aspects of healthcare. Enrollment is an application process. Accepted students will work with Adult Education and partner programs. Classes will be hybrid (onsite and online) with onsite labs located in Bucksport and Baileyville. Online classes require students to be on camera with microphone capability.

Upon successful completion of our program, students will be eligible to take a national certification exam, and have an opportunity for job shadowing/externship. Interested students may request an application at info@wcadulteducation.com

Cost of course includes tuition, textbooks, lab supplies, study guide, practice tests, and cost of one official exam. Students are responsible for uniforms, shoes, and stethoscope.
