Explore your creativity through layering paper, paint, trimmings and other found objects in this hands-on collage class. Learn composition, texture, and basic mixed media techniques to create a unique, Christmas tree-themed art canvas to keep or to give as a gift. All skill levels welcome and all materials provided! *Registration deadline is 11/7.

In this class, we will follow step by step instructions to create a multi-layered card. We will use one stamp several times to paper piece a stunning image. We will also make a gift card holder to prepare for the holidays. Precut kits and envelopes are provided. Participants need a pair of scissors and colored pencils or markers.

Have you taken the Introduction to Zentangle class and are wondering where to go next? In this class, we’ll play with different tangles, different materials and different approaches using the base of your initial Zentangle experience. All supplies needed will be provided.

In this class we will be painting a wooded scene with beautiful white birch trees. The cool air and colorful leaves will be sure to get you in the mood for this upcoming fall season. No Prior experience is necessary; Shirley welcomes beginners with open arms. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or picking up a brush for the first time you’ll find this to be a fun and engaging class. Canvas and paints are supplied.

Learn how to transfer hand-drawn imagery onto clay using monoprinting techniques with slip and underglaze. Explore layering, line work, and expressive surface design. Bring leather-hard pots if you’d like, or use provided slabs. All materials included; $20 materials fee payable to the instructor. No experience necessary.

Enjoy a relaxing evening sipping hot chocolate or tea while carving thoughtful designs into pre-made pottery by Janna and Zachary. Learn the sgraffito technique—scratching through colored slip to reveal the clay beneath—and leave your piece for firing. Finished work ready for pickup two weeks later. In this 2 day class, you'll learn everything you need to know to get started with watercolor painting. We will have an in-depth conversation about paper and pads, paint, palettes, and brushes. After the materials lecture, we'll jump right in and make a color chart, practice mixing paint and our brush strokes. After a quick review on the second day, you'll have the opportunity to paint a custom illustration created by Catherine and printed on watercolor paper. You'll leave this short, but sweet class with enough experience and knowledge to know if investing in the materials to paint with watercolor is something you are interested in doing. All materials provided. *A $20 materials fee must be paid to instructor at first class.

February 17th will be a special all day session. We will meet from 2:30 to 5, take a half hour break and finish up between 5:30 to 7:30. 

Beautiful objects are created in this class every semester by beginners. You can create a stained glass window or lampshade using the copper-foil technique. Learn acid etching and drilling. This is a fun and rewarding course. A complete list of materials will be discussed on the first night of class. The cost of materials is not included in the course fee and can vary depending on choice of glass and what your imagination will create. Note: You will also need to purchase your own tools, which can run between $45-$95. *No Class: 10/13.

In this one night workshop, you will learn about the different kinds of glass , how to cut and grind glass. We will be making acid etched hearts. You will be able to take them home that night. Lab fee $10.00 to be paid to instructor at the beginning of workshop.
